About Our Host

Carmen White

Carmen White is the Chief Operating Officer of VETS2INDUSTRY, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering connections, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for veterans and their families. In her role, she oversees daily operations to ensure organizational efficiency and meaningful service delivery to clients, partners, and sponsors.

Carmen is a former commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, where she served as a Personnel Officer, leading key personnel functions and designing training curricula for major weapon systems programs. She also served as Commandant of Cadets at North Carolina A&T State University, where she mentored and developed future military leaders.

After her military career, Carmen transitioned into the private sector, building a dynamic career in human resources, workforce development, and entrepreneurship. She founded PerfectPens Workforce Solutions and Publishing Company, LLC, and currently owns JEH Publishing Group, LLC. Carmen has served as an HR Consultant for the Office of Personnel Management and as Mid-Atlantic Area Manager for Hire Heroes USA, where she helped nearly 1,000 veterans, service members, and military spouses transition into civilian careers. She also led a multi-state team of transition specialists across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Carmen’s professional expertise includes career coaching, organizational strategy, and program development. Her impact at VETS2INDUSTRY earned her the Volunteer Director of the Year award while serving as HR Manager.

She holds an MBA, a Master’s Degree in Education, and multiple professional certifications, including:

> Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW)

> Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP)

> Paralegal Certificate

> She also attended North Carolina Central University School of Law and is an active member of the National Career Development Association and the Triangle Professional Women’s Association.

Carmen White is a dedicated champion for women veterans and active in community service initiatives. She has held leadership roles such as Executive Board Member of the Military Women’s Collective and served as an Advisor to The Transition Tribe.

She also volunteers with Dress for Success Triangle, supporting women on their journey to financial independence.

Outside of her professional life, Carmen finds the greatest joy in being a proud mother to her son. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, singing,

and playing the piano—a passion that once earned her a band scholarship to college.

Joel Stewart is a US Navy Veteran and a dynamic force in the business and veteran advocacy landscape. He currently serves as Director of Franchise Development for Signal Health Group and Director of Corporate Relations for VETS2INDUSTRY, where he leverages his expertise to empower transitioning service members and entrepreneurs alike. As Co-Founder of Post-Veterati, Joel helped pioneer a platform that connects veterans with mentors across industries. He is also a Certified Franchise Consultant with the International Franchise Professionals Group, guiding clients through the complexities of franchise ownership.

Joel’s entrepreneurial spirit is matched by his versatility—he is a commercial real estate broker, business broker, engineer, author, teacher, and now a Podcast Host, using his voice to spotlight stories that matter. Across every role, Joel brings a strategic mindset and a relentless commitment to solving real-world challenges through meaningful dialogue and action.
